Learning outcomes: Student can set up a GIS project with use of acquired data and can perform spatial analyses which bring solutions within landscape planning and conservation. Student knows geographic information systems connected with natural environment (sozological and hydrographical maps and databases) and their practical application. Student is able to elaborate thematic maps with use of cartographic module in GIS software.

Competences: Completion of the course gives the bases to conduct works (both research and projects) connected with landscape architecture which require practical application of GIS.

Prerequisites:

Course content: Methods of visualization and their characteristic. Cartographic projections. Thematic map compilation. Sozological and hydrographical maps and databases. Creating, storing, processing, analyzig and visualizing of data. GIS from landscape facet. Airborne photos and satellite images. Layers – creation, editing, and usage. Tools applied to objects, layers and libraries – translation, digitalization, editing and analysis. Digital Landscape Model. Design with GIS usage.
