Learning outcomes: Knowledge: has clear knowledge regarding spatial planning; distinguishes the most important phenomena occurring in space; describes the principles behind spatial management; is familiar with selected methods for spatial analyses; knows the structure of basic planning documents and knows how to use them; has basic knowledge required to understand the social, economic, environmental and legal determinants of planning activity; Abilities: knows how to acquire data for spatial analyses; can evaluate spatial structures with regard to spatial order development; can understand and analyse selected spatial phenomena; can evaluate the proper forming of spatial structures; analyses and evaluates basic planning documents and spatial structures;

Competences: Social competence (attitudes): understands the meaning of spatial order for the quality of life within society; is aware of their responsibility for the proper forming of spatial structures; can cooperate and work as part of a team and solve planning problems.

Course content: Part 1: Space (definition, characteristics). The systematics of spatial phenomena. The legal basis of spatial economy. The spatial economy system. The concept of state spatial economy. The spatial development plan of a voivodeship. The study of the determinants and directions of the spatial economy of a commune and the procedure behind formulating it. Spatial order. The local spatial development plan and the procedure behind formulating it. The form of each planning document. Techniques for planning documentation. Spatial conflicts.
