Learning outcomes: Knowledge: has basic knowledge regarding the aims and problems of spatial economy; can explain the basic principles behind managing space; can describe basic methods for analysing spatial structures and their transformations; can present selected theories and models of spatial economy; has knowledge regarding new trends in spatial economy; Abilities: can explain the meaning of selected localisation factors; can describe selected phenomena occurring in space; analyses and explains problems related to spatial economy; interprets new impulses in spatial economy;

Competences: Social competence (attitudes): shows understanding for the meaning of spatial order and the sparing management of space in the forming of spatial structures; can identify dilemmas related to spatial economy.

Course content: Space, spatial economy, management within space, managing space. The functional-spatial structure. The usefulness of spaces, using space, competition in space use. Localisation, localisation-related factors. Selected theories of spatial economy. Sustainable development and spatial order. Cities, agglomerations, metropolitan areas. Theories and models for the development of the spatial structure of cities. Innovations. Creative industries, creative cities.
