Learning outcomes: Knowledge: (30 % of evaluation) - student possesses a knowledge with reference to construction and preservation of landscape architecture objects using technical equipment and materials; - student is able to specify and understands proceedings concerning execution of different landscape architecture objects (including objects noted in the Registration of Monuments); - student is aware of basic principles in designing spaces of diverse functions and complexity degree; - student is able to specify tending recommendations for various types of landscape architecture objects (including plants phenological phases); - student is able to make a correct decision regarding preservation and protection of trees and shrubs in an area with ongoing investment under obligatory legal law. Skills: (50 % of evaluation) - student is able to prepare a complete design – working documentation; - student is able to carry out inventorying works for landscape atchitecture objects; -student is able to accomplish evaluation of landscape architecture objects vegetation (determine conflicts and justify cuttings) - student is able to select and evaluate nursery plants chosen for the project execution; - student is able to verify sowing distances and number of plants during executed works.

Competences: Social competences ( grounds ): (20% of evaluation) - student is aware of responsibility related to correct construction and preservation of landscape architecture objects; - student understands importance of decisions connected with execution of investments in the field of conservation and preservation of landscape architecture objects.

Prerequisites: Vegetation and fauna, Civil engineering, Designing of landscape architecture objects (I-V), Plant biology, Law, economy and management, Tending technical equipment, Geodesy.

Course content: The aim of Construction and Preservation of Landscape Architecture Objects course is to prepare a student for execution of investments in the field of construction and preservation of landscape architecture objects with various complexity degree. Formal and law aspects of actions linked with construction and preservation of landscape architecture object are discussed. Student receives a great deal of information in the field of landscape architecture objects documentation and formal proceedings concerning their execution. Other topics, discussed during classes, are: technical documentation of works; principles of inventory survey; technology and organisation of construction works; rights and duties of construction process participants; site diary keeping principles; documentation of taking over of works; preparatory works to earthworks execution; technology of earthworks execution; ground modelling; determination of slopes, embankments and excavations; protection of trees, shrubs and soil in the construction area; preparatory works; emergency actions; tending; documentations; directives regarding green areas construction execution; implementation of garden conservation works in historic horticultural assumptions; reconstructions and conversions of historical assumptions to new functions; proceedings regarding objects noted in the Registration of Monuments; technologies of plants fertilization.

Assessment methods: Receiving a credit for excercises: - elaboration of construction design (executive phase) for a given object along with detailed technical specification of taking over and execution of the works and evaluation of the project implementation; - evaluation of 3 work stages: analyses and problem studies, design solution, ability to prepare a specification of proceedings related to works execution and taking over; - before a project is elaborated, student carries out a detailed dendrological inventorying, determines trees and shrubs for cutting, prepares a request regarding cutting (including attachments), specifies conceivable cutting charges and accomplishes stand project for trees selected for preservation.
