Learning outcomes: Knowledge: Student after completing the course can include environmental factors influencing circuits - defines the biogeochemical cycles and recognize their impact on the development of ecosystems - understand complexity depending on the operation of the biosphere - is able to explain according to trophic conditions in the ecosystem - can explain what are the scientific basis for conservation. Skills: Student can describe the basic functioning of organisms in the environment - can interpret the processes of natural ecosystems - depending on trophic order in the biosphere.

Competences: The student demonstrates an understanding of phenomena occurring in the environment - is aware of the complexity of ecosystem processes - is aware of the impact of individual biotic groups on the functioning of the entire biosphere.

Prerequisites: basics microbiology, chemistry, basic ecological.

Course content: The aim of course is to introduce students the principles of ecology. They will learn about methods of ecological research, ecological processes and phenomena, classification of ecological factors, ecological tolerance, water and energy budget of organism, ecological classification of organism restrictive factors, structure of populations and communities, interaction between species, basic community rules, community coefficients.
