Skills Student is able to determine the need of drainage area on the basis of symptoms of environmental and soil factors and hydrography; is able to make the choice of technical and non-technical methods of regulating the area water relations, depending on the causes of excessive humidity occurring; is able to define the basic parameters of drainage ditches; is able to design the basic elements of systematic drainage area; is able to propose additional action to improve drainage treatments.

Competences: Demonstrates understanding of the importance of optimal water conditions regulation for food production in agriculture and the possibility of non-agricultural land development.

Prerequisites: Physics and chemistry of soils, meteorology and hydrology
