Learning outcomes: Student gets theoretical knowledge and practical ability to prepare the project of soil reclamation and rational use of reclaimed areas, with special focus on mining and post-industrial lands.

Competences: Student is able to assess reclamation need. He has satisfactory knowledge to choose and design the best way of use for degraded land and to prepare the project of technical and biological reclamation of the lands degraded by mining and industrial activities.

Prerequisites: Fundamentals of soil science, environmental chemistry, natural resources and their usage, fundamentals of crop production, soil protection.

Course content: Assessment of soil pollution. Remediation of polluted soils. The choice of future land usage and reclamation measures. Special cases: reclamation of mine spoils, industrial waste dumps and open pits.
