Learning outcomes: Student possesses theoretical and practical knowledge for achieving high yields of good ąuality cultivated plants. He is also able to estimate soil fertility and the contents of elements in soils, soil reaction as well as based on theoretical knowledge can plan and apply fertilization for different cultivated plants. He is familiar with rules of fertilizers choice, calculation of fertilizers doses, dates of applications and conseąuences of fertilizers usage.

Competences: The positive passing of this course enables students to independently prepare fertilization programs and fertilizers balance in different kinds of agricultural farms. It also allows making consultations for fertilization for farmers in agricultural advisory centers, making soil, plants and fertilizers analysis in agro-chemical labs.

Prerequisites: Chemistry, Soil science, Biochemistry, Plant physiology.

Course content: Soils as a resource for plant nutrition, forms and changes of nutrients in soil, chemical compositions of plants, nutrition needs, fertilizations needs, organie and minerał fertilizers, fertilizers for soil deacidification, fertilizers application forms, doses calculations, rules of fertilization consultancy for farmers, influence of fertilization on yield ąuality, ecological results of fertilization.
