Learning outcomes: Knowledge: It has an elementary knowledge of systems, technologies, techniques and equipment used in animal production. It has an elementary knowledge of systems, technologies, techniques and equipment used in food processing. Skills: Able to prepare and present a short presentation of the results of the engineering task involving the proper selection of equipment or funds in pursuit of the technology. Able to prepare, using a variety of sources, the development of Polish and foreign, on the specific problem in the field of agricultural and forestry engineering .  He can perform a simple supervised research and design tasks in the area of agriculture and agri-food industry.

Competences: Is aware of the importance, responsibility and consequences of the activity of an engineer agricultural and forestry in terms of responsibility for the quality of food and the environment, understand the non-technical aspects of the business. Is aware of the proceedings in a professional manner, identifying and solving problems related to their work, the principles of professional ethics and respect for the common good. Is aware of the responsibility for their own work and willingness to comply with the principles of teamwork and accountability for collaborative tasks. Able to work in a group, taking in her various roles including direct a small team of collaborators.

Prerequisites: mathematics, physics, fundamentals of animal production, mechanics and strength of materials, parts of machines

Course content: The basic of construction and calculations and the principle of working, using and applied machines in animal production. The modern machines and technologies used in animal production for food and feed processing, waste removal systems on farms, to drink of animal, cows milking and cooling of milk.

Assessment methods: Knowledge: Tests on exercises. Written and oral examination (optional) Skills: Assessment of individual tasks and design calculations, evaluation of completed projects. Evaluation of oral presentation of projects. Analysis and interpretation of the collected data, the assessment of oral presentation Social competence: To evaluate the accuracy of selection of information, respect for copyright and the correct interpretation with respect to the correctness of the selection of machines and solutions applied.
