Learning outcomes: Knowledge: Student acquire theoretical and practical knowledge related to the influence of soil properties and of used fertilization on the nutritional, feed and technological value of plants. Abilities: Student acquire the ability to develop a plan of fertilization under different crops, but also for the whole farm. Student also is also able to determine the economic aspect resulting from the different technologies and techniques of fertilization with mineral, natural and organic fertilizers.

Competences: Student demonstrates understanding of the phenomena occurring in soil and their impact on the cultivated plant. Student evaluates and explains the impact of fertilization on the quantity and quality of crops. The student observes the principles of hygiene and safety during storage and use of fertilizers. He has a responsibility for the entrusted equipment.

Prerequisites: Soil science, basics of crop production

Course content: Nutritional requirements of plants - contents of macro and micronutrients. factors that modify the chemical composition of plants. Soil as plant nutrition environment. fertilization and the size and quality of plants. fertilizers and fertilization in legislation. range and principles of natural, mineral and organic fertilizers. timing and technique of the use of fertilizers. Rules of trading, fertilizer storage and transport.
