Learning outcomes: Knowledge: W1-Has knowledge on the wastes arising from the plant and animal production and know the method of their recycling [[BH1-W08; R1A_W03]. W2-Have a general knowledge on agriculture and animal husbandry [BH1-W13;R1A_W03; R1A_W05]. W3-Can to use the knowledge from the agricultural and zootechnical sciences [BH1-W22; R1A_W09]. Skills: U1-Has the skills to assess the risks of waste coming from agriculture and animal production and know how to utilize them [BH1-U11; R1A_U06]. U2-Demonstrate the skills to interfere into different stages of the breeding of animals and agriculture and eliminate the threats using the appropriate methods [BH1-U14; R1A_U07].

Competences: K1-Can be responsible for the safety and protection of animals and the environment of breeding [BH1-K04; R1A_K03]. K2-Has awareness of the importance of social, professional and ethical responsibility for the evolution and state of the environment in the context of the safe management of waste from the plants and animal production [BH1-K07; R1A_K05].

Prerequisites: Animal breeding, plants cultivation, animal nutrition

Course content: The Student acquires a general knowledge on the kinds of wastes generated in the plants and animal production. Learn how to utilize these wastes and how they can be used in animal nutrition. Knows the problems of unpleasant odours and the methods of reducing this problem according to the EU regulations. Learn about the methods of utilization of waste-water coming from industrial farms and agri-food factories in the context of the reduction of methane, K, N and P emissions. Knows the regulations governing the utilization of gastronomy wastes, overdue food and feedingstuffs containing biologically active substances.
