Learning outcomes: The student has knowledge of physics, including mechanics, quantum mechanics, hydromechanics, thermodynamics, electricity and electronics, electromagnetism, acoustics, elements of nuclear physics, the knowledge essential to the understanding of fundamental physical phenomena occurring in agricultural engineering. Has knowledge of physical and chemical factors in the impact of human activities on climate change and the environment . Has knowledge of the physical processes occurring in nature during the mobilization for agriculture of energy from renewable sources. The student has the capability of obtaining information from literature or other sources, and the use of different calculation methods, can make interpretations and draw conclusions, make and justify reviews.Can develop documentation on the part of the engineering task associated with its physical aspect, prepare a text with an overview of the results of the implementation of the tasks. Can execute, under supervision, simple research tasks in the wider area of agriculture.

Competences: Understands the need for continuous learning and knows its opportunities. Is aware of responsibility for own work and shows willingness to comply with the principles of team work and responsibility for cooperative tasks.

Prerequisites: Mathematics

Course content: Selected elements of classical mechanics, hydromechanics, kinetic-molecular theory, thermal processes, optics, acoustics, electrical phenomena and electronics, electromagnetics, atomic and nuclear phenomena.

Assessment methods: Knowledge: Exam on exercises. Written examination. Skills: Assessment of individual tasks and the oral presentation, analysis and interpretation of the results obtained and their presentation. Social competence: Assessment of the correctness in selection of information and respect for copyright. Evaluation of the effects of working in a team environment.

Comment: The student performs 13 topics lab exercises among the 15 topics. The first class includes: initial messages concerning the conduct of the exercises and the rules of physical lab (including health and safety), estimating the uncertainty of physical measurements, and performing correct measurements and graphs. The last class – getting credits.
