Learning outcomes: Knowledge: W01 – student has general knowledge about market and its functioning [BZ_W05]; W02 – student defines supply and demand [BZ_W05]; W03 – student knows the basic concept of inflation, unemployment and business cycles [BZ_W05]; W04 – student knows the general principles of creation and development of various forms of individual entrepreneurship associated with food production at all levels [BZ_W20].

Competences:

Prerequisites: Bacisc of mathematics

Course content: The concept of economics, types of economies, the market and its mechanism of action, demand and supply and its determinants, competition in the economy and market structures, enterprise and its environment, cost, revenue and profits, money, inflation and unemployment, cyclical economic processes, the specificity of the agribusiness.

Assessment methods: Assessment methods: Written credits in 45 minutes (20 closed multiple choise questions and 2 tasks) in a class session. If credits has not been positively written in the first period, the student has the right to re-take them orally or in writing in a period of improvement.
