Learning outcomes: Knowledge: Student: W1 – has the knowledge enabling interpretation of phenomena and natural process in research and practical working [KB2_W01]; W2 – knows valid methodology of researches in natural sciences [KB2_W01]; W3 – formulates research hypotesis and solves fundamental research problems [KB2_W01]; W4 – knows how to prepare interesting presentation [KB2_W01]; W5 – understands complicated phenomena and processes concerned with water environment and their interactions with numerous related disciplines [KB2_W04]; W6 – indicates numerous possibilities of practical usage of acquired knowledge in socio-economic life [KB2_W04]; W7 – evaluates human functioning in nature and effect of industrial activity of water ecosystems [KB2_W06] W8 – explains most important industrial hazards and indicates methods of their limitation [KB2_W06]. Umiejętności: Student: U1 – plans and carries out laboratory and field research tasks or export opinions in the field of biology under supervisor control [KB2_U01]; U2 – makes a proper decision about using research techniques and is able to use them in practice . He/she correctly documents carried out researches [KB2_U01]; U3 – based on analyses of collected data formulates and interprets outcomes of research problems. He/she skillfully tabulates, illustrates data and compares them with other sources. Student draws appropriate conclusion and formulates proper opinions [KB2_U04]; U4 – is able to prepare in Polish and foreign language interesting presentation of detailed outcomes of his/her own or other authors’ researches. U5 – scrutinizes the credibility of information sources and selects them properly. He/she skillfully confronts and discusses his/her own opinions with other people using research terminology [KB2_U05].

Prerequisites: not required

Course content: To acquire detailed knowledge about culture of individual fish species in connection with rational pond management including ecological and economical aspects of fishery and extensive fish culture. The delivery the students of indispensable knowledge relating the aims the and ways the the farm implement of different types of small water reservoirs, and also the possibility of leadership in them the fish's breeding and the crayfish. Current information on commercial fisheries in small inland pond.

Assessment methods: Assessment of tutorials: Progressive grade (based on oral utterance) of progresses in studying and activity. Attendance on tutorials is compulsory. Students (in groups) prepare short presentation about chosen method of management of small water reservoirs. Completion of the tutorials – arithmetic mean note. Course completion: course is considered as passed when students get to pass tutorials
