Learning outcomes: Knowledge: The student has a knowledge in a field of the environment protection. He estimates human activity and impact upon the natural environment. Skills: Student can analyse factors influencing the natural environment. He is ready to attain information about effects of human impact and the environment protection from literature and other sources.

Competences: Competences: The student is aware of the responsibility for the environment state. Understands the need to work in teams but also can work individually.

Prerequisites: Ecology

Course content: Theorethical grounds of bioindication. Aims and range of the air, soils and superficial waters phyto-indication. Methods using lichens, mosses, liverworts and vascular plants for the air purity assessment. Plant indicators of the soil properties. Biotests used for the assessment of the specific substances contain in the soils. Macrophytes as bioindicators of the waters purity. Conception of the relic species and their application in the biological assessment of the vegetation transformation. Plants as bioindicators of the climate change.
