Learning outcomes: Knowledge: Knowledge of the basics of plant protection techniques, classification of machinery and equipment, the construction and operation, conditions the proper use of chemical methods of pest management and research methodology sprayers. Basic assumption of the course is mastering subject matter is taught by students at a level sufficient to obtain permission to operate in the field of plant protection. Skills: Ability to use basic principles of theoretical and practical bases of technical work during the use of pesticides. Mastering the skill the practical use of technical and technological possibilities of machines and equipment used in modern agriculture in the use of pesticides. Skills and equipment control apparatus to evaluate the quality of crop protection.

Competences: Knowledge of the subject is taught allows for permission for use of plant protection products, studies of pesticide application equipment and advisory activities in that area. The ability to recognize and identify the risks arising from the use of pesticides in food production resulting in activities to reduce environmental contamination, reduce the content of pesticides in foods and to enhance the safety of users of equipment for the use of plant protection products.

Prerequisites: Agricultural machines

Course content: Method of plant protection. The principle of operation and use of sprayers The conduct of crop protection in the production field. The conduct of crop protection in orchard production, vegetable and under cover. Periodic inspections of tractor sprayers. Development trends in plant protection technology. Research methodologies apparatus for use in plant protection products. The basic principles of health and safety in the application of pesticides.
