Learning outcomes: Knowledge Student knows rules for calculating reliable water shortages; knows ways of calculating irrigation doses; knows the basic types of equipment the subsurface irrigation and sprinkling irrigation as the systems of shaping nature potential; knows the conditions under which these irrigation can be used. Skills Student is able to assess the need for irrigation; is able to determine the water shortages; select doses for irrigation and water-drainage devices necessary to regulate the air-water relations of agricultural land; is able to use the documentation and engineering studies; is able to use familiarity with computer programs supporting designing.

Competences: Is aware of the increase of professional competence and the need to assess the effects of engineering activities in the environment.

Prerequisites: drainage

Course content: Concept for regulation of the watercourse taking into account needs land melioration. Aim regulation watercourse for the purposes of land melioration. Action of water on soil, plant and microclimate. Water shortages. Action subsurface irrigation. The amount of irrigation and conditions of use irrigation. Systems and sprinkling machine. Doses irrigation, sprinkling irrigation frequency. Selection of sprinklers. The surface and underground sprinkling machine. Effects of sprinkling irrigation.
