Learning outcomes: Knowledge: Student W1 - knows the most important statistical methods used in the description and evaluation of natural phenoma [BH2_W02, R2A_W01, R2A_W03], W2 - has knowledge of copyright law, knows the rules of essntial and formal arrangements of scientific work [BH2_W16, R2A_W08]. Skills: Student U1 - independently design, conduct, analyze and evaluate the correctness of tasks related to animal breeding [BH2_U04, R2A_U04, R2A_U06], U2 - is able to describe his own research project in the form of scientific work under supervision,specifies the necessary chapters, properly formulates title and aim, defines research hypothesis, ia able to write correctly the literature [BH2_U13, R2A_U08].

Competences: Student K1 - is active in updating the knowledge in the field of biology and 4related disciplines, understands the need of learning through lifetime [BH2_K01, R2A_K01], K2 - has ability to prioritize during accomplishment of the tasks defined by himself or other team members [BH2_K03, R2A_K03].

Prerequisites: Completing the 1st level and Seminar I.

Course content: Detailed scheme of scientific work related to nature, ethics in scientific work, respect of copyrights, principles of developing oral presentation and poster for scientific conference, presentation the problem in the form of oral presentation or poster at scientific conference, constructive criticism and scientific discussion, design of own research project and help in writing the thesis.

Assessment methods: Knowledge W1 and W2, skills U1 and U2, ass well as cometences K1 and K2 will be verified during practicals, basing on multimedia presentation including all elements of the Master thesis and basing on discussion held after the presentation. During the discussion, all students are evaluated (student who give lecture and students participating in the discussion). Each student is required to prepare and deliver at least one presentation directly related to the topic of his/hers Master thesis. Completion of the course is based on the average assessment from practicals and lectures.The prerequisiteis to obtain an average of 3.0 in all established learning outcomes.
