Learning outcomes: Knowledge: Student: W1 - knows and understands some notions and principles of jurisprudence and civil law; understands the role of civil law in juridical relations; can lawfully use of library and patents and internet database; knows and understands fundamental notions and principles of Copyright Law and Industrial Property Law [BC1_W20]. Skills: Student: U1 - is able to interpret and use civil law and intellectual property law [BC1_U15].

Competences: Personal and social competences (attitudes and behaviors): Student: K1 - is able to complete and improve the acquired knowledge [BC1_K01].

Course content: Law sources and law system; legal norm, kinds of legal norms, law application and interpretation, loopholes and law collision, civil law in the law system, the civil law subjects, legal capacity, range of legal activities, bar for actions, contracting, property law and means of its acquisition, statute of limitations, obligation, contractual and delictual responsibility; notion of intellectual property, contents and subjects of copyright law, copyright personal rights and property rights, the notion of plagiarism, free use of protected works, protection in the industrial property rights, plant and animal varieties.
