Learning outcomes: Knowledge: Student has basic knowledge and practical skills to plan varying types and sorts of crop rotations. Student knows the meaning of crop sequence to form soil conditions and crop productivity. Student knows factors conditioning the possibility of monoculture use.. Student knows the possibilities of reduction of negative effects of simplifications in crop rotations. Student has knowledge of the rules for making out and analyze organic and mineral fertilization balance in crop rotation. Skills: Student designs crop rotations depending on soil-climatic conditions and type of farm. Student can design them according to requirements of integrated agriculture.. Student recognizes crop rotation diseases and can prevent against them and is also able to select proper phytosanitary and regeneration plants.

Competences: Student understands phenomena occurring in environment under the cultivation of next crops in crop rotation. Student understands the necessity of crop rotation and its use in production of high quality food and protection of soil environment. Student appreciates the need for self-improvement and the necessity of trainings. Student obeys rules of industrial safety during tillage. Student is responsible for project.

Prerequisites: Crop and soil management, plant nutrition, agrotechnology.

Course content: Importance of crop rotation in history of agriculture development, environmental conditions of crop rotations, fertilization and plant protection in crop rotation, phytosanitary and regeneration plants, tillage in crop rotation, monocultures, crop rotation diseases, ways of reduction of negative results of simplifications in crop rotation, criteria and methods of crop rotation assessement.
