Learning outcomes: Knowledge: W1- student posses a general theoretical knowledge on existence of wild living canine [BH1_W01, R1A_W01, InzA_W01; BH1_W11, R1A_W04]; W2 - student knows animal behavior in a flock, food conquering, reproduction and reading of the progeny [BH1_W07, R1A_W05, R1A_W03, InzA_W01]; W3 - student knows contemporary methods on migratory evaluation and populations protection [BH1_W17, R1A_W06, InzA_W05; BH1_W18, R1A_W06, R1A_W03, InzA_W03, InzA_W06]. Skills: U1 - student properly recognizes the wild living species belonging to canine family [BH1_U05, R1A_U05, InzA_U05, InzA_U07]; U2 - student utilizes different sources to learn and prepare a problematic presentations [BH1_U12, R1A_U06, InzA_U01].

Competences: K1 - student systematically actualizes the knowledge on canine biology [BH1_K03, R1A_K03; BH1_K04, R1A_K03, InzA_K01]; K2- student understands the threats of canine arising from civilization progress [BH1_K03, R1A_K03].

Prerequisites: Animal physiology and anatomy.

Course content: Characteristics of wild living and domesticated canine species; rules of genetic work, genetics and environmental factors affecting canine life; canine derivation; behavior evolution, methods of orientation, canine migrations, law status, canine protection and reintroduction.

Assessment methods: Knowledge W1, W2 and W3, plus skills U1 and U2 are verified during practicals, on the basis of two written rated tests (45 min.).On each of them, there are 4 questions (descriptive and problem) involving topics discussed during lectures and practicals. Answers to each question are evaluated on a scale of 0 to 5 points. To pass the test student will have to obtain at least 60% of the points.Competences K1 and K2 are assessed on the basis of reports prepared in teams, including current information on Canidae presented in the media (internet, newspaper, television). Completion of the course is based on the average assessment from practicals and lectures.The prerequisiteis to obtain an average of 3.0 in all established learning outcomes.
