Learning outcomes: Knowledge : Student has the knowledge of the biology , economic importance , nutrition , of the little -known and exotic vegetables and fruits. Student gains knowledge of : biodiversity in the cultivation of vegetables and fruit trees and the possibility of the introduction the new species into cultivation in Polish conditions O1 - W04 , W15 - O1 , O1 - W17 Skills: Student is able to identify fruits and vegetables available on the Polish market and abroad , gaining the ability to determine the degree of maturity of the product for consumption. The student is able to designof the cultivation of the new species of vegetable and fruit tress for horticultural , agro-tourism and amateur farm. He can assess the suitability of exotic fruits available in the domestic market O1 - U03 , U05 - O1 , O1 - U08

Competences: The student demonstrates an understanding to extend its range of vegetables and fruits, knows and is able to create the conditions for the newly introduced species and as well as assess the impact of their presence in the environment O1 -K01 , O1 - K02 , K05 - O1 , O1 - K06

Prerequisites: Botany , Plant Physiology , Vegetable growing, Fruit growing.

Course content: Taxonomy, the characteristics of the species, nutritional value, economic importance exotic fruits and vegetables. Their habitat requirements and opportunities for growing in Poland.
