Learning outcomes: Knowledge: He has a knowledge in the range of technological processes in the plant and animal production as well as infrastructure of agricultural farm. He knows the rules of acquisition and conversion of solar energy, wind energy, water, earth to heat or electricity. He has knowledge about the specifics of the enterprise in the area of acquisition and use of renewable energy sources, including the terms of energy security. He knows the methods of evaluation in the industry. He has a knowledge in the area of ecology and environment management necessary to take into account the aspects of environment protection in decision making and technological activity. Skills: Student is able to explain the essence of conversion of energy from renewable sources for heat and electricity, and to measure physical quantities characteristic of these forms of energy. He knows how to develop the concept of the acquisition and use of energy from renewable sources. He is able to perform a calculation of economic efficiency of projects related to renewable energy sources and formulate the tasks of technology management and finance. He has an ability of design and supervision of new and existing processes as well as production and exploitation systems in the range of agricultural production engineering. He can take into consideration the ecological and environment protection aspects during decision making and technological activity.

Competences: Social competences: Is aware of the importance of the continuous training in the area of management and production engineering. Is aware of the importance of social, professional and ethical responsibility for the decisions influencing the formation and state of the natural environment. Is aware of the importance of the continuous training in the area of management and production engineering.

Prerequisites: Mathematics, Physics, Basic of Management

Course content: Potential, acquisition and utilization of different forms of renewable energy Methods of calculations of the energy yields. Operation parameters and basics of the selection of the devices acquiring energy from renewable sources. Combined systems. Application of RES in the manufacturing companies. The main aspects of the enterprise in the field of renewable energy. Management Tools. Forecasting techniques. Linear analysis. PERT analysis. SWOT analysis of projects related to renewable energy sources. Technical-economic assessment of installations for processing and disposal the biomass.

Assessment methods: Assessment of education effects in terms of knowledge: credit of written exam, credit of all tutorials. Assessment of education effects in terms of skills: results analysis and interpretation of collected data, argumentation of the choices, evaluation of oral presentation, Assessment of education effects in terms of social competences: individual work, team work, ecological consciousness, copyrights respect, responsibility for entrusted task, conscientiousness in the preparations for task realization.
