Learning outcomes: Knowledge: Student gains knowledge about theoretical and empirical problems associated with cleaning, sorting and separation of granular mixtures and is able to see that occur within the accuracy of these issues. Student acquires knowledge about a basic knowledge concerning the construction, distribution and the functional characteristics and theoretical basis for the action of subassemblies and is able to apply theirs in practice. Skills: The student acquires the ability to apply the basic theoretical assumptions for the analysis of processes occurring in the course of cleaning and sorting of granular mixtures and the use of theoretical knowledge in the selection of machine parameters in terms of efficiency and quality of work Acquires the ability to recognize the fundamental physical phenomena taking place between the machine and a grain mixture during the separation, cleaning and sorting.

Competences: The student demonstrates an understanding of phenomena occurring at the interface between the material of biological origin and components of machines used in field crop production. Shows the need for self-improvement and training in the application of modern design solutions.

Prerequisites: (-)

Course content: The basic concept of cleaning, sorting and separation of granular mixtures. The theoretical basis of operation of selected machinery subassemblies. Understanding the phenomena accompanying the effects of machines on the granular material. Optimizing the parameters of structural and regulatory machinery determining the quality of their work. Applying basic theoretical knowledge of agrophysics to resolve practical issues. The distribution, classification, and functional characteristics of the selected machines.
