Learning outcomes: Knowledge: Student knows basic and specific laboratory equipment; knows the character and as well safety rules in the laboratory; knows general and specific methods used in food science and human nutrition studies Skills: Student can use special equipment and apparatus; complies with health and safety rules; knows how to select and properly deal with the biological material used in research; is able to select the reagents and the method of chemical synthesis; can properly plan the experiment and laboratory work

Competences: Social skills (attitude): Student shows active attitude and creativity in the approach to the undertaken research; is aware of the responsibility for the equipment and performed tasks

Prerequisites: Knowledge of biology and chemistry at the academic level I

Course content: Health and safety rules in the specific laboratory. Principles of operation and maintenance of the special laboratory equipment. The methodology of research conducted in the laboratory.
