Learning outcomes: Student possesses theoretical knowledge and practical abilities enabling skilful recognition of a variety of grass species which can commonly be found in lawns.
Competences: Completing the course allows performing a diagnostic research of the lawn and designing technologies of their cultivation.
Prerequisites: botany, grass management, plants physiology, agricultural chemistry
Course content: Role of the grasses in human life, nature and economy. Economy division of the grass. Economically useful characteristic of turfgrass. Classification and kinds of lawns. Cultural practices on lawns. The possibility of take advantage by grasses in different habitat conditions. The role of the grasses in landscape planning and environment protection.

Assessment methods: Completion of laboratory, oral exam, minimum 60% of knowledge to pass.
