Learning outcomes: Knowledge Student: W1 – knows the backgroundsof systematic and classification of the most popular species of fancy and decorative birds [KB_W12]; W2 - describes the differences in external morphology and behavior of the most popular of fancy and decorative bird species [KB_W06; KB_W07]; W3 - posses a general knowledge on fancy birds reproduction [KB_W08]; W4 - knows the basic roles and mechanisms related to right of inheritance [KB_W09]; W5 - knows a general law and ethic roles, takes care on proper birds treatment and their welfare [KB_W19]. Skills Student: U1 – describes and evaluates the external morphology of fancy and decorative birds [KB_U10]; U2 - is able to project the crossing models for individuals of different traits and predicts their appearance in the progeny [KB_U08].

Competences: Personal and social competences (attitides) Student: K1 - is aware of the collective responsibility during cooperative working in the team [KB_K02].

Prerequisites: animal physiology,animal anatomy,genetics,animalreproduction

Course content: The importance of amateur keeping of birds in Poland, basic species and breeds of decorative birds used in Poland, the rules of decorative birds husbandry, the reproduction of decorative birds, buildings and their equipment, yards, the rules of decorative birds.
