Learning outcomes: Knowledge: Student knows the basic techniques, methods and tools, and unit operations used in the processes of food processing; has a basic knowledge of technology, processing of the raw materials of vegetable and animal origin; knows the rules and principles of rational nutrition of different population groups including patients; knows the consequences of inappropriate nutrition; knows and understands the basic concepts and principles of the protection of industrial property and copyright. Skills: Student performs simple research and engineering tasks under the supervision of the specialist; applies basic technologies in the acquisition and processing of information and statistical calculations; has the ability to elaborate the results of the analyzes and the preparation of the elaborations concerning issues related to food technology and human nutrition.

Competences: Student is aware of the progress and the following changes in the discipline of food technology and human nutrition; is able to think and act in an enterprising way; is creative in the transfer of his skills and knowledge; has the ability to communicate with experts from different fields.

Prerequisites: subjects of the studies programme

Course content: Based on the literature student performs the solution of the research problem indicated in the subject of the diploma thesis, accordance with the range established with the supervisor.

Recommended literature: Literature required for the elaboration of the thesis is indicated by the supervisor of the thesis and found by the student.

Assessment methods: evaluation of the diploma thesis before the oral exam; the oral exam
