Learning outcomes: Student receive the knowlege about the soil and climatic requirements, methods of propagation, growing and training systems of the most important fruit species, harvest and storage methods of fruit.
Competences: Student will acquire the knowledge that is necessary to run the modern fruit farm specializing in tree and berry fruit production for fresh consumption, processing and storage purposes.
Prerequisites: Botany, Soil science, Plant physiology.
Course content: Basic informations including nutritional value of fruit, environmental factors influencing plant growth and development, methods of propagation and cultivation, fertilization, tree training,and fruit storage. The attention will be paid on fruit cultivars and base production of the most important fruit species.
