Learning outcomes: Knowledge: Student: W1 – knows examples of endangered waterfowl species [KB2_W06] W2 – understands that the diversity of organisms is the result of genetic potential functioning in different environmental conditions [KB2_W06] W3 – indicates the possibility use of practical knowledge in socio-economic part area [KB2_W04]. Skills: Student: U1 – efficiently uses the test apparatus [KB2_U02] U2 – critically assesses the man attitude to nature [KB2_U06] U3 – properly interprets the relationship between habitat and bird anatomy[KB2_U07] U4 – is able to obtain information from literature and databases in both, Polish and foreign languages [KB2 – U05].

Competences: Personal and social competences (attitudes and behaviors): Student: K1- regularly brings up to date his/her knowledge [KB2_K01] K2 – perceives risk to waterfowl due to the progress of civilization [KB2_K04] K3 – exhibits ethical attitudes towards animals and understands the importance of their welfare [KB2_K06].

Prerequisites: animal anatomy, animal physiology

Course content: To make the students familiar with wild ducks and geese, with economic significance of geese and ducks, breeding material that is currently supported in Poland, conditions of maintenance and feeding of water fowl, genetic reserve, conservative flocks and water birds met in amateur breeding.

Assessment methods: Assessment criteria for practical classes and lectures: (criteria to pass practical classes and lectures assesment): Twice written test with open questions; Ongoing evaluation of knowledge and activity during the classes (oral answers during the classes); Presence is mandatory, only one unexcused absence is allowed; Final assessment on the basis of the average of the ratings.
