Learning outcomes: Knowledge: Student has a thorough knowledge of auditing and certification of quality in terms of their importance in the marketing of enterprises. Student has a thorough knowledge of quality management in companies from the food sector. Student knows the procedures for auditing and certification useful for running and developing various forms of enterprise. Skills: Student has preparation for work as a quality auditor. Student has the ability to create written papers on aspects of quality and safety management in the enterprise. Student is able to use the ISO standards and describe the documentation necessary to carry out the audit and certification process as part of the production process.

Competences: Social competences: Student analyzes performed tasks for priorities taking into account the role of quality management and executive staff. Student is able to work in a team as a manager or contractor parts of the task. Student use of pro-quality approach in the planning and execution of tasks related to the management and engineering in the agri-food sector.

Prerequisites: management, management of quality and safety

Course content: Introduction to auditing and certification of quality in enterprises. Characteristics of quality audits according to the subject matter and the origin of audit team. Overview of ISO 9001 for the audit. Methodology and auditing techniques. The procedure for conducting internal audits. Initiating of audits. Overview of the documents required during the audit. Identify, characterization and analysis of the causes of non-compliance. Checklist as a tool to support the audit. Ways of conducting the interview during the audit. Requirements for auditors. Interpersonal contact and communication during the audit. The audit report - the necessary components. Auditing the other hand as a tool for monitoring and improving the relationship between the partners. Auditing in the context of the most common errors in the operation of the ISO system. Quality certification - introduction. Certification of products, processes and personnel. Certification of management systems (quality, environment, work safety). Selected certification bodies. The process of certification. The awards, programs, signs and certificates of quality in the agri-food sector. Examples of quality certificates in other industries. Obtaining and maintaining a quality certificate.
