Learning outcomes: The student has the knowledge of the biodiversity of the natural environment, its formation and protection against unfavorable abiotic and biotic factors. The student obtains information from the literature, databases, interprets them and draw conclusions could express and justify their own opinions; is able to perform simple research tasks under the guidance academic supervisor, performs basic analyses of soil properties ; is able to diagnose and assess the environmental risks caused by human activities.

Competences: Students can work individually and in a team, taking on various roles; is aware of the shared responsibility for the tasks implemented in a group.

Prerequisites:

Course content: The influence of the soil on conditions for plant growth. The relationship between plant diseases and soil properties, composition and morphology. Anthropogenic factors influence on the soil and subsequently on plants. The effect of soil degradation on plant vegetation conditions and plant health. Describing, anticipating and countering threats to plants associated with the soil condition and properties
