Learning outcomes: Knowledge: The student has an elementary knowledge of the threats to the environment and its protection (also on a global scale). The student has general knowledge in the field of environmental management systems. Skills: A student can obtain information from the literature, databases, and other sources; can integrate the information obtained, can make their interpretation, as well as to draw conclusions and formulate and justify opinions. The student is able to evaluate the technology and analyze the factors affecting the health of humans, animals and the environment.

Competences: Competences: The student is aware of the responsibility for their own work and for work in a team and take responsibility for collaborative tasks. The student is able to identify priorities for implementation posed by yourself or superiors purposes.

Prerequisites: sozology

Course content: Environmental management as a science - definitions and introduction. Fundamentals of environmental management system. Selected aspects of the theory of systems. The idea of sustainable development. The elements of environmental management system: a management system; tools, resources and instruments of management; the subject of management (environment, society, economy). Tools of environmental management. Environmental policy. Plans and programs. Environmental information. Environmental management instruments. Selected problems in the management of the various components of the environment. Environmental Management according to ISO 14 001. The specificity of EMAS. The costs and benefits of environmental management system in the enterprise.
