Learning outcomes: KNOWLEDGE: 1) Student have a knowledge of methods of measuring welfare and knows causes of business cycle. 2) Have basic knowledge of the role of state in economy. 3) Have a knowledge of causes and how to counteract inflation. 4) Knows what fiscal policy is. 5) Knows how banking system works. 6) Have a basic knowledge of international exchange and currency rates. SKILLS: 1) Student can see and interpret basic macroeconomic problems. 2) Student can describe relations between macroeconomic indicators. 3) Student can evaluate effectiveness of fiscal and monetary policy.

Competences: SOCIAL COMPETENCES: 1) Student have ability to value need to enlarge the scope of knowledge i macroeconomics. 2) Student is open to different interpretations of current economic situation and economic policy.

Prerequisites: Knowledge of mathematics and civics at high school level.

Course content: Macroeconomic problems. Macroeconomic indicators. Factors of economic growth. Economic cycle. Determinants of national income. Keynes model. The role of state in economy. Fiscal policy. Money and the banking system. Inflation. Unemployment. Employment policy. International economics.
