Learning outcomes: Knowledge: Student W1 - knows well enough biological properties pigs; W2 - has knowledge of the anatomy and functions of living pigs; W3 - can describe the phenomenon of the growth of pigs, knows the different phases of their development; W4 - known behavioral patterns of pigs and rules to ensure the welfare of pigs during their rearing alkierzowych conditions. Skills: Student U1 - will gain the ability to design a pig farm on the basis of their knowledge of modern and at the same time intensive industrial production pigs or piglets.

Competences: Student K1 - is aware of the responsibility for the developed project farm.

Prerequisites: Knowledge of the basics of breeding and rearing, physiology and nutrition of pigs and livestock housing

Course content: Students will gain theoretical and practical knowledge related to the functioning of the farm, specializing in intensive pig production, the requirements in force in the European Union. Subject matter expertise is complemented by the possibility of designing an intensive forms of production. The main goal is to master the skill of student development technological and production assumptions to project construction or reconstruction of pig farms in the farm. In order to compete in the production of pork in the EU we have to take care of putting into practice in our country, and the cheaper forms of intensive pig production. Hence, there is a need to educate those skilled in the field our agriculture.

Assessment methods: During exercises will be verified skills: U1 and competences: K1. Verification of listed education effects will occur based on the assessment of student work related to the preparation of the project. Students will be divided into groups of two pearsons. Each student will be responsible for the implementation of a specific part of the project. Will be assessed teamwork taking into account the contribution of each student. The project involves thirteen sections, which are consistent with the detailed topics of exercises. Proper implementation of the 8 elements is the basis to pass. The basis for complete the course is a pass of exercises. Knowledge (W1, W2, W3, W4) will be verified at lectures, on the basis of the exam consists of 5 problem questions. The duration of the exam is 60 minutes. To pass an exam the student must correctly answer at least three questions. Persons who did not pass an exam at the first time, will proceed to the exam in the second term in the same form.
