Learning outcomes: Knowledge: Student: W1 - knows and understands the biological and cultural properties of man, determines the characteristics of the species on the background of the order Primates, explains intraspecific variation of man, knows and understands the causes of modern human morphological diversity and functioning of the modern man in society [BC1_W13]; W2 - stages anthropogenesis knows, understands and explains the discussion aspects of ancestral man knows the latest discovery of Homo positions [BC1_W11]; W3 - describes the general stages of ontogeny, knows the correct methods for assessing human development, describes the variability of individuals in time and space, known environmental and genetic determinants of this variability, explains the basic demographic indicators [BC1_W08]; W4 - know the basic principles of acquiring, preserving and collecting studies skeletal materials, methodologies for assessing the lifestyle and health in historical populations [BC1_W18]; W5 - knows the basics of ergonomics and understand the general causes of environmental threats to human health [BC1_W21]; W6 - knows the history of the development of physical and cultural anthropology, understands and explains the relationships with other disciplines [BC1 _W16]; Skills: Student: U1- is able to apply basic research techniques and skeletal material or living people, knows how to use the appropriate methodology to assess the correct development of the appropriate use of testing equipment for measuring [BC1_U06, BC1_U11]; U2 - knows how to use the proper methodology to assess the accuracy of the physical and motor development of children and young people can make appropriate use of testing equipment measuring [BC1_ U07, BC1_U12]; U3 - identifies and classifies the basic form of Hominid based on bone remains, he can formulate appropriate conclusions [BC1_U10]; U4 - knows how to use the knowledge gained in cooperation with representatives of other disciplines such as, archeology, education, forensics, and medicine [BC1_U13]; U5 - has the ability to prepare papers and other written work as well as a presentation of human biology based on Polish literature and foreign language [BC1_U18, BC1_U19];

Competences: Social competence (attitudes): Student: K1 - is willing to update their knowledge of biology and related disciplines [BC1_K01] K2 - can responsibly and effectively with the group and accept assigned duties, organize work [BC1_K02]

Course content: Biological and cultural human characteristics. Man against the primate. Basics anthropogenesis. Genetic and environmental determinants of human development (ontogenetic). Growth, ossification, maturation, development of body types - the pace, sequence, correlation. Acceleration and secular trend. Meters and factors of physical development. Basics of Polish demography. Historical population research capabilities. Ergonomics - definition, core risks in the workplace.

Assessment methods: The current rating (based on oral statements) progress and activity. The presence of the exercises is compulsory, the student may have only one unauthorized absence. Students holding a valid pass a written exam practice test (about 50 closed questions) in the examination session. The exam lasts 45 minutes. In the case of a negative assessment the student will try again to pass the exam in the same way as before.
