Learning outcomes: Knowledge: possesses the knowledge of the basic categories and determinants of the functioning of a city and region, especially with respect to their functional-spatial structure; knows the structures and subjects of the city and region; is knowledgeable in the subject of the main factors and barriers for development, especially in the context of sustainable development; is knowledgeable in the subject of spatial-economic regional diversity and the subject of euro-regionalisation; Abilities: can assess the level of urbanisation in an area and its character; knows how to observe and evaluate the process of regionalisation in a given area; determines and evaluates the functional sphere of the city and region; performs the basic interpretation and evaluation of the socio-economic development of a city and region; Social competence (attitudes): shows understanding for the meaning behind the economisation of processes occurring in cities and regions, with additional regard to other requirements of integrated order; knows the value of enterprise-related activity and its influence on the city and region.

Course content: Urban processes and their variants. The city (classification) and its features. Managing processes in the city. The importance of city infrastructure. Regionalism and the region (typology). Balancing the socio-economic development of cities and regions. Transboundary (Euroregional) cooperation.
