Learning outcomes: Knowledge Student knows physical basis of parameters of humid air, understands mechanism of change of air condition with constant and variable moisture content; knows effect of external and internal factors on the development of the human environment comfort in domestic and industrial premises; knows the basis for the calculation of ventilation air flow volume and ways of organizing the exchange of air in the room; knows the basic hydraulic air flow in ventilation ducts and methods of their design; knows the scheme and construction of equipment of mechanical ventilation and air conditioning comfort. Skills Student can practically use the Molliers “i-x” chart to determine the parameters of the state associated with the change of humid air in its treatment process; is able on the basis of the balance to determine the cooling load of the room and calculate the required ventilation air stream; knows how to use catalogs or available programs for selection of some of the air handling devices and peripheral components in a variety of ventilation or air conditioning systems; can design single lead network of air conditioning with central air preparation;

Competences: Student demonstrates understanding of the importance of ventilation or air conditioning for the wellbeing and health of the living rooms users.

Prerequisites: Physics, general construction, technical thermodynamics

Course content: Types of ventilation, ventilation systems division. Parameters of state and the transformation of humid air at constant and variable moisture content. Rules for calculating the size of ventilation air flow based on the heat balance, moisture and contaminants in the room. Organization of flow and methods of exchange of ventilation air in the room. Types and characteristics of plant, ventilation and air-condition equipment: diffusers, air handling units with air treatment segments. Energy recovery.
