Learning outcomes: Knowledge: Knows the basic terminology that is used in the humanities and social sciences: knows the basic concepts related to the labor market and career planning, incentive mechanisms and patterns of thought, knows selected contemporary problems in the labor market. Has a basic concept how to get other information on the topic of the course. Has a basic knowledge of social relationships and is able to indicate the relationship between the humanities and the social and agricultural sciences, forestry, veterinary and natural. Skills: Is ably looking for information, analyzes and uses the literature on the subject of the course. Uses specialized terminology in the language of the subject Is aware of the self-development. Recognizes issues, can act in accordance with applicable standards and principles.

Competences: Is able to work in a team, with taking different roles. Understands the need for lifelong learning. Is able to think and act creatively. Correctly identifies dilemmas associated with making life and professional choices, obeys ethical rules.

Prerequisites: Humanities in the high school.

Course content: Requirements and constraints of the modern labour market. An employee in a postmodern world. The end of the full-time jobs - the mosaicism in the labour market. Types of intelligence, emotions in professional situation. Employee roles, importance of task roles. The concept of „the Hedgehog and the Fox” - specializing in the development of employee competencies. Personal branding. Features of the leaders. Career management: formulation of objectives, time management, planning. Determinants of resistance to the pressure of time and stress. Anthropology of space, building a friendly environment. Mechanisms of the labour market: rules of building relationships with resilient personalities, communication in difficult situations, corporate poker, toxic relations, a destructive influence of manipulation techniques. Protection from abuse in difficult relationship, types of violence, codependency syndrome, the experience of helplessness and passivity. Revision.

Assessment methods: Final evaluation of the lectures is a component of the scoring in the knowledge, skills and social competence. There are summed points obtained from the written test, activity, discussions, attendance and additional tasks. Knowledge shall be verified with the use of the written test. Written test includes two problem questions, to assess skills. Social competence are evaluated based on participation in class discussions and thematic attendance and performing additional tasks. Required level necessary to pass: 60%
