Learning outcomes: Knowledge: Student has a basic knowledge of plant habitat requirements. Student knows the basic factors affecting habitat and knows the rules of the functioning of the soil environment; has knowledge of biotic and abiotic threats and understand the influence of soil properties on the fertility and productivity as well as growth and development of plants. Knows and understands the role of soil in the functioning of natural ecological systems. Skills: Student is able to identify and characterize the major types of soils; He is able to characterize the habitat types in conjunction with the factors affecting them; He is able to determine the optimum soil conditions to ensure proper growth and development of plants; knows the basic terminology in Polish and English; Student is able to carry out analysis in the field of basic soil properties under the direction of leading.

Competences: Social competences: Student is able to work in a team as the person responsible for the final result of the work and as part of the team.

Prerequisites: Basic environmental information

Course content: The soil and climate as factors affecting habitat. The formation of soils, their morphology, three-phase system, physical, chemical, physico-chemical, biological properties, fertility, systematics, classification, agricultural complexes. Influence of soil on the formation of plant habitats.
