Learning outcomes: Knowledge: Student has in-depth knowledge of the principles of experiments planning using advanced techniques used in food research; has knowledge about modern methods of food analysis; knows the statistical methods in the planning and optimization of experiments and in the elaboration of the results of scientific research. Skills: Student is able to plan and carry out experimental work using the mathematical, physical and biological tools and elaborate obtained results; selects and uses computer programs in the elaboration of the research results; is able to use online databases; performs modern quantitative and qualitative analyzes of food.

Competences: Student is aware of the professional and ethical responsibility for the experimental work conducting, the production of high-quality food and the condition of the environment; is creative in raising awareness concerning the population feeding and the principles of proper nutrition; is able to interact and work in a group; is aware of the responsibility for jointly implemented actions; is aware of the legal protection of intellectual and industrial property; is able to think and act in an enterprising way; is able to properly determine priorities for their own and entrusted tasks execution.

Prerequisites: major and specialization subjects or subjects of the studies programme.

Course content: Solving of the research problem, preparation of the workplace for the experiments, performing the experimental and computational part of the research, ongoing analysis of the obtained results.

Recommended literature: literature concerning the subject of the thesis indicated by supervisor and found by the student.

Assessment methods: mark; acceptance of the results by the supervisor
