Learning outcomes: Knowledge: He knows the principles of environmental policy in the field of water conservation. He knows the political and legal and economic water protection and water management. He knows the mechanisms governing water management. He knows the management and administration of waters. He knows the role of society in the implementation of environmental policy and water policy of the state in the field of water protection and water management. Skills: He can create strategies and plans for the program in the field of water protection and water management at various levels of government. Able to implement projects related to water management and is able to move the mechanisms governing economic water to other areas of activity in the environment and public administration. Is able to apply the legislation on water protection and water management. He can obtain information from the literature, industry and other sources, as well as how to integrate and interpret the obtained information. Knows how to prepare and conduct a public presentation at the public consultation programs, plans and strategies in the field of water protection and water management.

Competences: Social competence: Understands the importance of the availability of water quality for the development of civilization and is aware of the responsibility for the rational use of water resources. Understands the need for training for life on issues relating to water protection and water management. Can work in a team and fulfill the obligations arising from the role performed in the band.

Prerequisites: hydrology, hydrobiology, surface water protection, environmental consulting, environmental policy, law, environmental management

Course content: Strategic problems of water protection in the world and in Poland. Water protection and sector policy, Polish and European Union. Water protection in government ecological policy. Access to information on the environment and its protection. Regional and local strategies and programs for the protection of waters. The division of competences in water management and water protection. Administrative instruments and in water protection. Responsibility of water protection and water management. Public participation in the implementation of the objectives of the National Environmental Policy for the protection of waters. The role of NGOs in water protection. Water protection programs. Raising funds for activities in the field of water conservation.

Social competence: Evaluation of the program of water protection and public presentation of this program.
