Learning outcomes: Knowledge: Student - W1 - uses the knowledge of agricultural and animal science to write the engineering thesis W2 - knows the rules of the writing of engineering thesis in the field of animal husbandry W3 - knows how to avoid plagiarism in engineering thesis Skills: Student - U1 - can individually use various sources of information in order to use them to write engineering thesis in the field of animal husbandry U2 - can editing the text of engineering thesis in the field of animal husbandry

Competences: K1 - recognizes need for further education and self-improvement of animal husbandry

Course content: The substantive requirements will be presented for the engineering thesis on the faculty of animal husbandry. The student will learn to use various sources of information. The course will address issues of plagiarism in the engineering thesis. Presented will be scheme used to solution methodical problems associated with animal husbandry. Will be discussed the basic mistakes made by students during the writing engineering thesis. For selected examples will be presented to edition of tables, figures, diagrams, summaries of the engineering thesis. Formulating the summary and conclusions. Presentation of examples of engineering thesis.

Recommended literature: Świrska-Kalinowska J. Metodyka nauczania produkcji zwierzęcej. Wydawnictwo SGGW, 1995. Lindsay D. Dobre rady dla piszących teksty naukowe. Oficyna Wydawnicza Politechniki Wrocławskiej, 1995.

Assessment methods: Knowledge (W1, W2, W3) will be verified on exercises, on the basis of the exam consists of 3 problem questions. The duration of the exam is 30 minutes. To pass an exam the student must correctly answer at least two questions. Persons who did not pass an exam at the first time, will proceed to the exam in the second term in the same form. During exercises will be verified skills: U1, U2 and competences: K1 on the basis of individual project of engineering work. The basis to pass U1, U2 and K1 is perform project of engineering work, which included 75% of the issues discussed on the exercises. The basis for complete the course is a pass of exercises.
