Learning outcomes: Knowledge Student has the knowledge of the terminology in the field of ecology, technology of plant cultivation; knows the basic conditions and specific of agricultural production; understands the interaction between living organisms and the abiotic environment, and has a general knowledge of the morphology and vital functions of the basic groups of crops, knows basic methods of plant protection, knows what methods and tools are used by: agronomical practices, meadow farming, understands the relationships between plant and animal production on the farm. Skills Student is familiar with major species of plants and animals, it can analyze the habitat conditions (soil, climate) for the production of crops and animals. He is able to obtain, process, and share information about natural and agricultural environments (terrain), its protection and agricultural production sites. He knows the farm equipment (in the basic range), and specificity of Health and Safety rules on the farm. Social competence Student understends the phenomena occurring in nature, is aware of the responsibility for the tasks performed and for the sustainable management of the natural environment resources.

Course content: Course content: Natural environment, basic terms, definitions, ecological and anthropogenic factors, favorable and unfavorable. State and the specifics of Polish agriculture, threats and protection, perspective of plant and animal production. Characteristics and requirements of agricultural crops. Basis of plant production (tillage operations, farming systems, the principles of fertilization and plant protection). Natural basis for field crop rotation. Meadow-pasture farming (vegetation, use). Basics of animal production (zootechnical terms and norms, taxonomy, organization of animal production). Relationship of animal and plant systems (feeding systems, feed conservation). Agricultural production systems (organic, etc.).
