Learning outcomes: Student knows the role and significance of the environmental impact assessment is the key to sustainable use and development of water resources, knows the basic procedures, methods and techniques to carry out environmental impact assessments for projects in the field of water management knows the objectives and scope of public consultation under the EIA. Skills: Students can identify the typical impact of projects in the field of water management on the environment Put collect and use economic and environmental data to evaluate the impact of the project on the environment; able to qualify the project for environmental assessment and to determine the extent of the EIA; know how to identify potential environmental impacts and assess their effects, can make the best choices realization variant, can develop elements of the EIA report for the selected water management projects; socialization process can be carried out with the perspective of the proceedings, can make comments and requests for public consultation from the point of view of participant in the proceedings.

Competences: Personal and social competences (attitudes and behaviors): Has the ability to work in a team, can work together in the consultation and decision-making environment, is aware of the environmental impact caused by projects in the field of engineering and water management.

Prerequisites:

Course content: Genesis, the role and importance of environmental impact assessments. Typology of impacts of projects in the field of water management on the environment. Institution Environmental Impact Assessment in a legal and organizational regulations. Strategic environmental impact assessment. Environmental impact assessment of projects. Forecasts and EIA reports. Public consultation on the EIA procedure. Environmental information systems. Tools and methods to perform EIA. Good practice EIA. Presentation of the role and scope of public consultation under the EIA (the formal requirements, the procedure, the powers of society and social organizations, comments and requests from the public). Administrative hearing as part of the EIA procedure socializing.
