Learning outcomes: Knowledge: He has an extended knowledge in selected sections of physics, chemistry and biology, needed for description of processes existing in the renewable energy, as well as understanding of physical phenomenon taking place during acquisition of energy from renewable sources. R2 OŹE_W2 He has an extended knowledge in the area of biofuels and biomass utilization processes for energetic purposes, including waste biomass from agricultural and animal origin. R2OŹE_W3 He has an ordered theoretical knowledge of systems, technologies, techniques, equipment and tools used in the production of energy from renewable sources. R2OŹE_W11a He has a detailed knowledge supported by the strong theoretical basis in the range of design and exploitation of the systems or devices intended for acquisition and utilization of renewable energy sources. R2OŹE_W12a Skills: Can obtain information from literature, databases and other sources, is able to integrate the information, make their interpretation, as well as draw conclusions and formulate and justify opinions. R2OŹE _U01 Student is able to identify and determine a specificity of engineering tasks, elaborate the documentation related to the engineering task, as well as prepare text containing discussion of the results in the range of this subject. R2OŹE _U03

Competences: Social competences: Is able to perform detailed analysis of the realized task in view of the proper priorities determination taking into account the role of the given executors. R2OŹE _K02 Is aware of the importance of social, professional and ethical responsibility for the actions influencing the formation and state of the environment. R2OŹE _K03

Prerequisites: Thermodynamics, Physics, Acquisition of energy from renewable sources, Basics of Automation and Metrology.

Course content: Basics of supervision of energetic devices. Assumptions and aims of diagnostics. Diagnostics systems. Models used in the thermal-flow and durability diagnostics. Parameters and factors undergoing diagnostics and monitoring. The examples of monitoring and diagnostics of selected units of energetic devices. Influence of diagnostics and monitoring on capacity, reliability, efficiency operation of energy devices. The application of the diagnostics and monitoring for safety improvement and decrease of exploitation costs of machinery and energetic devices.

Assessment methods: Assessment of education effects in terms of knowledge: credit of written exam/presentation. Assessment of education effects in terms of skills: results analysis and interpretation of collected data, argumentation of selected choices, oral presentation. Assessment of education effects in terms of social competences: individual work, team work, ecological consciousness, copyrights respect, responsibility for entrusted task.
