Learning outcomes: Knowledge: possesses knowledge regarding the European Union budget, knows the rules behind conducting structural/regional/cohesion policies of Poland and the EU; knows the basics of conducting agricultural policies; knows how to characterise funds related to the structural policy of the EU; can name and describe funds related to agricultural policy; can indicated Polish strategic documents allowing the use of EU funds; Abilities: can indicate a EU fund for the purpose of a given project; can use the RPO application generator; can search for information regarding the submission of applications as part of each programme; can explain the concept of the eligibility of expenditures;

Competences: Social competence (attitudes): due to the changing legal regulations, the student understands the need to learn all their lives.

Course content: Course introduction – the mechanisms of financing community initiatives. the budget of the European Union, including the source of the organisation's budget income and the directions for budget expenditures. The definitions, aims and areas of impact of the structural/regional/cohesion policies of Poland and the EU. The rules behind the structural policy of the EU. The definitions, aims and areas of impact of the Common Agricultural Policy. Rules behind agricultural policy. European Union Funds – funds related to the structural policy of the EU: the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), the European Social Fund (ESF), the Cohesion Fund. The Jaspers, Jessica and Jeremie initiatives. European Union Funds – funds related to the Common Agricultural Policy: the European Agricultural Guarantee Fund, European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development, European Fisheries Fund. Polish strategic documents allowing for the implementation of European funds: National Development Strategy for 2007-2015, National Strategic Reference Framework for 2007-2013. Operational programmes for 2007-2013, including: Infrastructure and Environment Programme, Human Capital Programme, Innovative Economy Programme, Development Of Eastern Poland Programme, Technical Assistance Programme, European Territorial Cooperation Programme. Support and coordination institutions. The rules behind financing EU projects. Project financing agreement. Eligibility of expenditures. The rules behind documenting expenditures resulting from executing the project.
