Learning outcomes: Knowledge: The student acquires knowledge of the process of establishment of the vineyard, grape growing and wine production technology, knows the modern technologies used in the vineyard and wine processing. The student can project machinery and equipment associated with the production, packaging, sorting and proper storage of fruits and products. Student knows examples of the use of modern solutions in the production and processing of fruit wines. The student knows and understands the economic benefits from the use of these solutions. O2 - W01, R2A_W05, R2A_W06, O2 - W03, R2A_W04, O2 - W02PO Skills: The student is able to name and identify the elements necessary to establish a vineyard. The student knows the requirements of the climate and soil of grape bushes. The student is able to name and identify machinery and equipment necessary to conduct the modern production of grapes. Student is able to perform simple tests and trials related to the condition of the fruit. The student has basic skills in laboratory work. The student is able to plan production processes in the vineyard and grape processing. The student can choose cultivars of plants suitable for the chosen area of the climate, to determine the most beneficial system for conducting the vineyard and determine the optimal harvest date fruit. Course content: Grape vine - biology, origin, cultivars. Nursery production of grape vine. Climatic and soil requirements of viticulture. The systems of viticulture. Physiological changes occurring in the fruit. Fruit maturity rating. Conditions and methods of harvesting fruit. Laboratory methods for assessing the maturity of the grapes. Principles of construction and operation of modern technological lines for the production of wine. Harvest technologies and storage used in the wine farms. Economic and legal aspects of wine production and management of enotourism farms.

Assessment methods: Knowledge: the written test from part of the lecture , pass a written theoretical part of the exercise, practical assessment of laboratory and field skills: project preparation vineyard establish, perform basic analysis of vine and wine in the laboratory.
