Learning outcomes: A student knows plant structure on different levels, he recognizes plant tissues and knows the structure of gymnosperms and angiosperms organs. He also understands the connection between cells, tissues and organs construction and their function. A student possesses knowledge related to different systematic groups. He demonstrates knowledge of some plant families as well as plant species that are significant for human

Competences: A student knows how to get information and knowledge from various sources, for instance: lectures, textbooks, databases and his own observations, he can interpret data and he draws conclusions. A student can indicate and categorize basic plant species. He understands the needs of learning and studying through the whole live. Student can work alone as well as with a group of people. He is aware of collective responsibility for tasks, which are carrying out through the group.

Prerequisites: Knowledge of general biology

Course content: Structure of eukaryotic cells, plant tissues, anatomy and morphology of vascular plants (roots, lives, stems and flowers), inflorescence types, structure and type of fruits.
