Learning outcomes: Knowledge: Student: W1 - knows and understands the biological and cultural properties of man, defines the characteristics of the species on the background of the order Primates, explains intraspecific diversity [KB2_W01_BC, KB2_W04_BC] W2 - knows anthropogenesis phases, understands and explains the discussion aspects of ancestral human, knows the recent discovery of the Homo [KB2_W02_BC] W3 - knows and understands the reasons for modern human morphological diversity, diversity within populations, knows the laws of population genetics and understands the importance of polymorphism in the human population diversity [KB_W04_BC] W4 - characterized by Polish population demographically [KB2_W03_BC] W5 - describes the general stages of ontogeny, knows the correct methods for assessing human development, describes the variability between individuals in time and know the environmental and genetic determinants of this variation [KB2_W05_BC] W6 - knows the basic principles of skeletal materials testing, life assessment methods and the health status of historical populations [KB2_W03_BC] W7 - know the basics of ergonomics and understand the general causes of environmental threats to human health [KB2_W06_BC] Skills: Student: U1- is able to apply basic research techniques and skeletal material of living animals, knows how to use the appropriate methodology to assess the correct development of the appropriate use of testing equipment for measuring [KB2_U02, KB2_U01_BC] U2 - identifies and classifies the basic form of Hominid based on bone remains, he can formulate appropriate conclusions [KB2_U03_BC] U3 - knows how to use the knowledge gained in cooperation with representatives of other disciplines such as, archeology, education, forensics, and medicine [KB2_U04_BC].
Competences: Social competence (attitudes): Student: K1 - is willing to update their knowledge of biology and related disciplines [KB2_K01] K2 - can responsibly and effectively with the group and accept assigned duties, organize work [KB2_K02]

Course content: Biological and cultural human characteristics. Man against the primate. Basics anthropogenesis. Genetic and environmental determinants of human development (ontogenetic). Growth, ossification, maturation, development of body types - the pace, sequence, correlation. Acceleration and secular trend. Meters and factors of physical development. Basics of Polish demography. Historical population research capabilities. Ergonomics - definition, core risks in the workplace.

Assessment methods: The current rating (based on oral statements) progress and activity. The presence of the exercises is compulsory, the student may have only one unauthorized absence. Students holding a valid pass a written exam practice test (25 - 30 closed questions) in the examination session. The exam lasts 30 minutes. If you will fail the exam the first time the student has the right to re-take it orally or in writing.
